Top 5 Bridesmaid beauty essentials

Two of my best friends got married the beginning of last month and it was the most perfect day.

I was lucky enough to be asked to be bridesmaid and it was honestly the best day ever. I wont go into too much detail about the day but I thought I would share some of my big day make up essentials.

My talented cousin did my make up on the day (she is a qualified make up artist).

1. The perfect lipstick

I decided to wear Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Uptight.

I had gold, sparkly eyes, so I thought a neautral matte lipstick would be the perfect match.

I decided on Uptight, which is a warm brown, because I thought it wasn’t too dark that it would over power my face and it wasn’t too light it would blend in my skin. The perfect middle ground.

2. Shimmery eyes

I think bridal makeup should be more on the softer side. Whilst I like a dramatic smokey eye and dark lips for a night out, I think for weddings you want pinky tones and light shimmers.

The Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette is the perfect bridal Palette. The soft pinks and shimmery tones are beyond pretty and matched our flowers really well.

3. Highlighter

Has anyone ever used the Topshop Glow pot? If you haven’t, you need too! This highlighter is INSANE.

As it was a wedding I thought I would leave the glazed icing look for the cake. A small amount of this goes a long way, and pops just enough.

4. Setting Spray/ Setting Powder

Weddings are a long day, they involve a lot of pictures, a lot of drinking and a lot of dancing. You wanna look as pretty at the beginning of the night, as you did at the start.

I’ll start with the setting powder. I personally don’t like an over baked face, plus you don’t wanna look back on pictures and notice your face is on the powdery side. A small amount in your oily areas are all you need.

5. Scrap the mascara; get eyelash extensions!

If you’re an emotional wreck like me and you cry at everything – from walking up the aisle, vows, speeches, first dance – you need something that is durable.
Mascara would end up running down my face; and if I wore false strip lashes I’d be worried about pulling them off when I was crying.

So I went for a full set of eyelash extensions, I won’t bore you with my love for them, but if you’re interested I have another post with details.

Now to try and convince my boyfriend to put a ring on me!

What are your bridal beauty tips?

Love Leigh
